SRK wins Dadasaheb Phalke as Best Actor

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan won the award in the Best Actor category at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards (DPIFF) 2024. He was honoured for his performance in Atlee’s directorial “Jawan”.

The award ceremony was held in Mumbai on Tuesday evening. The ceremony was attended by many celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor, Vikrant Massey, Nayanthara, Shahid Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, among others.

Shah Rukh said in his acceptance speech, “I thank jury who considered me worthy of the Best Actor award. I have not received the Best Actor Award in a long time. It seemed as if I would not get it again. I am extremely happy. I like awards. I am a bit greedy. Vidhu Vinod Chopra likes it more than me. We will share it Vinod.”

The actor also expressed gratitude to the entire team of “Jawan”. Released on 7 September last year, the film collected over ₹1000 crore at the worldwide box office.
