Second session of 12th Parliament to begin this afternoon

The 12th parliament of Bangladesh is set to commence its second session at 5:00pm today (Thursday). Prior to this, the Business Advisory Committee will meet at 4:00pm to determine the session's duration and agenda.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will preside over the committee meeting, setting the stage for parliamentary proceedings.

According to sources from the Parliament Secretariat, this session is expected to be brief.

The decision to convene the session was made by President Mohammed Shahabuddin on 15 April, utilising his constitutional powers.

The initial session of the 12th parliament, which began on 30 January, concluded on 5 March after 22 working days.
