In a bid to sculpt future leaders committed to global change, the Global Gatekeepers Club, rooted in the Department of Global Studies and Governance (GSG) at Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), orchestrated the much-anticipated "2023 SDG Policy Challenge: Redefining Climate Policy Through Innovation." This policy case competition, a beacon of inventive thinking, served as a melting pot for transformative ideas at the nexus of climate and technology.

Global Gatekeepers: Think Global, Act Local

Since its inception in Autumn 2019, Global Gatekeepers has been an interactive haven fostering idea exchange, networking, and a robust blend of practical and theoretical skills. Embodying the role of "Global Gatekeepers," members uphold the dignity of their department and the values of global citizenship. The club's motto, "Think global, act local," is more than words—it's a guiding principle that urges students to reflect on their roots while representing their local colors globally. The agenda? To think globally, reevaluate local eco-spheres, and develop innovative solutions.

Global Gatekeepers' mission transcends club meetings; it equips members with leadership skills, organizational prowess, and a sound, objective understanding of the world. Collaboration with other IUB clubs in annual events facilitates connections with influential figures in domestic and foreign policy, development, and diplomacy, creating opportunities for students to leave lasting impressions on platforms that few can access.

Youth Innovation Fund Recognition: A Testament to Excellence

Global Gatekeepers, representing IUB, achieved a remarkable milestone by securing the prestigious "Youth Innovation Fund – University Clubs" from ICCCAD and the Swedish Government. As the sole private university club honored with this award, the recognition further underscores their commitment to climate change and development.

This grant, a part of the "Youth Leadership Program," aims to support and sponsor young leaders contributing to climate action, entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, youth, and innovation. Global Gatekeepers is a beacon of innovation and commitment in these crucial areas.
