Peter Haas holds meeting with Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen

US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas is holding a meeting with Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen at State Guesthouse Padma in Dhaka.

The meeting began around 11 am on Thursday and the agenda of the meeting could not be known immediately.

The meeting was held a day after the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington wrote a letter to the Ministry of Commerce, alerting it about the concerns arising from the United States' recent labour rights policy.

In the letter, the embassy also urged the stakeholders concerned to take the issue into cognisance on priority basis. According to the letter, the policy may be used as a political tool to take initiatives against Bangladesh on the pretext of labour issues.

Earlier on November 16, Peter Haas left Dhaka by a flight of Sri Lanka Airlines and returned back on Monday.
