NSU student’s body found in Turag 2 days after he went missing

Police on Monday found the body of a North South University (NSU) from Turag River in Gazipur, two days after he had gone missing.

The deceased has been identified as Moazer Bin Alam, 24, son of Rezaul Alam Hero, said. Tongi river police outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Asadunnabi Sarkar.

Paternal uncle of the deceased, Jahir Uddin, said that Moazer left home on Saturday to travel to Panchagarh and went missing about an hour later.

No one could reach him on his mobile phone, even after several attempts, he added.

Gacha police station SI Shariful Alam said they had found Moazer’s clothes, mobile phone, and national identity card on the banks of Turag River the day he went missing.

He said Moazer may have drowned while swimming.
