At least 950 homeless families of Lalmonirhat receive houses from government

At least 950 homeless families in five upazilas of Lalmonirhat have received houses from the government The beneficiary families have started living in the houses from today (July 21, 2022).

According to sources of Relief and Rehabilitation Office, among the landless-homeless families who have received government housing facilities, 175 are in Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila, 255 in Aditmari, 225 in Kaliganj, 125 in Hatibandha and 170 in Patgram, reports our local correspondent.

Kaliganj Upazila Project Implementation Officer (PIO), Ferdous Ahmed, said that senior authorities of the government have visited several times to verify the quality of house construction.

Aditmari Upazila Project Implementation Officer (PIO), Mofizul Islam, said that the beneficiary families have been provided with tube-wells for access to pure drinking water. Every house is also provided with electricity connection, he said.

Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed MP told the journalists, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's dream is that no person will be landless or homeless in Bangladesh. Every one shall have his/her own land and house. The Prime Minister's dream is coming true."
