Cases of alleged plagiarism surrounding 'Seven' by Jungkook

BTS member Jungkook is accused of stealing music for his solo single "Seven" by composer Yang Joon-young.

 

'Time of Mask' by Fin KL was composed by Yang Joon-Young in 2000. Yang Joon-Young claims that Jungkook stole a scale sequence from the song.

The claims of copyright infringement regarding Jungkook's "Seven" are unfounded, according to BigHit Music.

"They are one-sided assertions that do not fit any criteria such as considerable similarity or plagiarism principles," they added. 

'Seven' topped the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global charts in just one month of release.
