Jailer, the most recent film from superstar Rajinikanth, quickly demonstrated his dominance at the box office by surpassing the Rs 200 crore threshold in India within six days of its release. The movie's popularity is anticipated to help it pass the $400 million mark globally. In the history of Tamil cinema, only four films—Rajinikanth's 2.O, Kabali, Ponniyin Selvan, and Vikram—have grossed more than Rs 400 crore. Today, the movie is anticipated to join this exclusive group.

Early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk indicate that the Rajinikanth-starring film Jailer brought in about Rs 33 crore in India on August 15, increasing its net domestic earnings to Rs 207.15 crore. In Tamil Nadu, the movie has the highest occupancy at 81.59 percent.

Jailer is anticipated to surpass Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 collections in Tamil Nadu based on its box office performance. Jailer would become the state's highest-grossing movie as a result of this accomplishment. "#Jailer will beat #PS1 to become the Highest Grossing Movie in TN!" predicted industry tracker Ramesh Bala.

In the Southern region, Jailer has been maintaining its momentum with minimal competition, as Chiranjeevi’s recent release, Bhola Shankar, struggles at box office. In the Northern market, however, Jailer faces rivalry from Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, which has amassed Rs 229 crore in India since its release on August 11.

Jailer, an action-packed entertainer, hit theatres on August 10. The film features explosive cameos from Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal and Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff. Its favourable reviews have undoubtedly contributed to its immense success. Kirubhakar Purushothaman of indianexpress.com gave the film 3.5 stars and wrote, “Of course, Jailer’s story is similar to Kamal Haasan’s Vikram in a lot of ways, but this one is not too gloomy as Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film. Nelson’s film doesn’t hesitate to make fun of some of the most delicate situations, because all that matters to the director is to keep you entertained.”
