On Tuesday, Novak Djokovic advanced to his 12th Wimbledon semifinal and his 46th Grand Slam final overall.

Djokovic beat Andrey Rublev 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the championship match, where he will play Italy's Jannik Sinner. Djokovic is vying for his eighth All England Club championship and 24th major championship overall.

The Serb has now advanced to as many Slam semifinals as Roger Federer, who is no longer competing.

The 36-year-old claimed he was enjoying being the one to beat in his 400th Grand Slam match.

I adore it. After maintaining his record of not losing on Center Court since 2013, he said, "Any player wants to be in the position where all the other players want to beat you.

"Every time I step onto the court, the pressure is there.

They want to win and get a scalp, but that's not going to happen.

Djokovic, who had lost the first set, was enraged and only gave Rublev six points in the opening five games of the second set.

After saving three break points in the same game, the winner needed five set points to win the third.

Rublev's motivation vanished, and Djokovic won the match with his 42nd goal of the contest.

The seventh-ranked Russian in the world has now lost each of his eight major tournament quarterfinal matches.

"I had these small opportunities, but I missed them. He built them. Because of this, he is one of the all-time great players, Novak," he said.

To advance to his first Grand Slam semifinal, Sinner defeated unseeded Russian Roman Safiullin.

The eighth-seeded Italian overcame a mid-match hiccup to triumph 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.

The 21-year-old, who lost to Djokovic in the quarterfinal of the previous season after blowing a two-sets-to-love lead, admitted that it was "obviously tough."

Sinner promised to enter the court with a "good mentality" in his semi-final.

It will be difficult because Novak hasn't lost on Center Court in ten years, but maybe today is my day.
