Abul Khayer Abdullah, an AL candidate, was elected BCC mayor

Abul Khayer Abdullah, a candidate for the Awami League in the Barishal City Corporations (BCC) elections, was unofficially elected mayor.

By 53,980 votes, he defeated his closest opponent, the Islami Andolon candidate Syed Faizul Karim.

Tonight, Returning Officer Md Humayun Kabir announced the unofficial results at the Barishal Shilpakala Academy election results collection and announcement center.

Abul Khayer Abdullah received 87,808 votes with the boat symbol, while Faizul Karim received 33,838 votes.

Kamrul Ahsan, an independent candidate, received 7,999 votes.
