General Manoj Pande, India's chief of army staff, will visit Bangladesh from 5 to 6 June at the invitation of General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army, to observe the Passing Out Parade at Bangladesh Military Academy, Chattogram.

This visit follows the recent visit of General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed to India, where he was invited by the COAS of the Indian Army to review the Passing Out Parade at the Officers' Training Academy in Chennai, according to a press release issued by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.

During his visit, the COAS of the Indian Army will lay a wreath at the Shikha Anirban altar in Dhaka Cantonment in honor of members of the Bangladesh Armed Forces who made the supreme sacrifice during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.

In addition, he will hold bilateral discussions with the Bangladesh Army's Chief of Army Staff and examine the entire scope of India and Bangladesh's defense cooperation.

It was stated that these high-level exchanges provide both sides with an opportunity to renew the strong bonds of friendship and brotherhood that exist between the Armed Forces of India and Bangladesh.
