Police arrests man on charge of raping his daughter in Gazipur

Police yesterday arrested a man on charge of raping his daughter in Gazipur's Pubail area after the victim called the national emergency helpline 999.

The girl, aged around 19, told police that she was being raped by her father for several months. She could not tell anyone because of the social stigma and fear, said Inspector Anwar Sattar, focal person (Media) of 999.

She further told that her father last raped her on July 15 and sought legal help in this regard, he said.

The officials at the 999 desk  informed the Pubail Police Station who then arrested the 40-year-old man, Anwar said.

A case was filed with Pubail Police Station in this regard.
