Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the Awami League (AL) and minister of roads, bridges, and transportation, said  that the BNP is trouble centering the new visa policy of the United States (US).

Obaidul Quader, general secretary of the Awami League (AL) and minister of roads, bridges, and transportation, said  that the BNP is trouble centering the new visa policy of the United States (US).

"During the term of the current administration, elections will be conducted in a free and fair manner. Therefore, neither the Awami League nor Sheikh Hasina are concerned about any sanctions or visa policies, he said.

This afternoon at Madhya Badda, Quader was the keynote speaker at a protest rally sponsored by Dhaka City North AL.

He claimed that the elections for the Gazipur City Corporation set a precedent for free and fair elections.

The "final game" between the "boat" and the "sheaf of paddy" will be played in the upcoming general elections, according to the AL general secretary. He declared, "The people don't want a sheaf of paddy."

According to the US's new visa policy, no one will be granted a visa if they interfere with free elections, he continued.

We have a benefit from the US visa policy, he said, adding that he hoped the upcoming elections in four cities would also be fair. The BNP has so far complained to the US. Sanctions would be applied, the BNP stated. However, where is the penalty? BNP is currently under sanction because they constantly seek to sow discord through terrorism-related vandalism and arson. They are therefore terrified of the new policy.

He questioned why the BNP leader is afraid of elections, pointing to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Actually, because Sheikh Hasina is the most well-liked leader, the BNP is afraid of Bangabandhu's daughter as prime minister. He stated that Sheikh Hasina strives to better the lot of the populace.

If anyone tries to block the polls, according to Quader, they will be dealt with harshly.

While Dhaka City North AL President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman presided, speakers at the rally included AL Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organising Secretary Mirza Azam, and Dhaka City North AL General Secretary SM Mannan Kachi.
