Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returns home from Qatar

This morning, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned from a three-day official visit to Qatar.

At 5.58am, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the prime minister and her entourage touched down at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Earlier, the flight left Hamad International Airport for Dhaka at 10.25 p.m. local time (01.25 a.m. BST).

Sheikh Hasina arrived in Doha on May 22 for a three-day official visit at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, to attend the 3rd Qatar Economic Forum (QEF).

Sheikh Hasina participated in the Qatar Economic Forum, met with the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani at the Amiri Diwan, held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani, and met with the President of Rwanda Paul Kagame.

In addition, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs of Qatar, Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, met with her.

Khalid A. Al-Falih, the Saudi Arabian Minister of Investment, and Faisal Alibrahim, the Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning, also met with Sheikh Hasina.

The prime minister also addressed the students of Qatar University and visited Awsaj Academy, a school for children with special needs in Doha that is operated by Qatar Foundation.
