According to a ruling published on Tuesday, Prince Harry failed in his attempt to challenge the British government over his security arrangements while in the UK.

Harry and Meghan lost their taxpayer-funded protection in the United Kingdom when they left frontline royal duties in 2020 and moved to North America.

The couple has their own private security team in the United States, but Harry claims they lack the jurisdiction or access to British intelligence necessary to keep his family safe in the United Kingdom.
The prince, formally known as the Duke of Sussex, had requested a judicial review of a decision denying him permission to pay for his own UK security.

The Metropolitan Police of London opposed Harry's proposal on the grounds that it would be unethical to "place officers in danger for a fee paid by a private individual."

Harry is also involved in a separate trial against tabloid publisher Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) for alleged illegal information gathering in the same court.

In June, he is expected to testify at this trial.
