The top all-rounder in the world, Shakib Al Hasan, has joined the Galle Gladiators of the Sri Lankan Premier League (LPL). According to reports in Sri Lankan media, the signing was carried out under a direct contract.

The Bangladeshi all-rounder will be participating in the Lankan franchise tournament for the first time.

Shakib, Liton Das, and Afif Hossain were the three Bangladeshi players initially selected in the tournament's draft last month. This LPL season will feature a total of five teams.

On June 11, there will be a tournament auction. However, every team is vying for the best cricketers to sign. Kandy Falcons have signed star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga from Sri Lanka, while Jaffna Kings have signed South African batter David Miller.

According to reports, Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, will play for Colombo Strikers.
