On Tuesday, Real Valladolid improved their chances of surviving relegation from La Liga with a crucial 3-1 victory over league champion Barcelona.

The hosts advanced to 17th place and moved proviso three points clear of the relegation zone because they deserved their victory.

By heading into his own net in the second minute, Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen sent Valladolid on their way.

After Eric Garcia tripped Gonzalo Plata in the area, Canadian striker Cyle Larin added the second goal from the penalty spot, and the Ecuadorian winger added the third goal on the break.

The Catalans got one back in the dying minutes thanks to La Liga's leading scorer, Robert Lewandowski.

When Vinicius Junior was substituted in the second half, Barcelona winger Raphinha posted a message on Instagram to show his support for his fellow countryman and Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior.

On Sunday at their Mestalla stadium, Valencia supporters harassed Vinicius racially.

Raphinha took off his shirt to display the message after being replaced. "I didn't know he was going to do it but I think it's a good message, because racism has to end," said Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong to DAZN.

Before the game, players from both teams held a banner that read "racists out of football" as part of a La Liga and Spanish football federation initiative in response to the abuse on Sunday.

For the first time in La Liga, Barcelona's young playmaker Pablo Torre made the starting lineup and had a strong game, but the rest of his team was sluggish and suffered a second straight loss.

"Pablo had a good game, he was good in his position, he played through a lot of good passes and linked up well with Robert," Xavi told the press.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who has 25 saves with two games left, is still attempting to break the La Liga clean sheet record of 26.

We played poorly in the opening period, allowing two goals due to errors on our part. Our concentration has suffered as a result of finishing an objective, according to Xavi.

We've had a fantastic season, but we need to perform better for our supporters and to bid (Sergio) Busquets farewell.

Real Sociedad defeated Almeria by a score of 1-0 to put themselves in position to play in the Champions League the following season.

With Villarreal in fifth place and a game against Cadiz on Wednesday, Takefusa Kubo's first-half goal gave Imanol Alguacil's team, who are currently in fourth, an eight-point lead.

For a rough tackle on defender Robin Le Normand, Almeria's Luis Suarez was kicked out after 36 minutes.

In first-half stoppage time, Japanese winger Kubo scored with a brilliant curling shot into the top left corner after cutting in from the right.

Late in the game, Alexander Sorloth had a chance to double the lead for La Real but missed wide with his shot. Ander Barrenetxea made a successful post.

Real Sociedad, who have not participated in Europe's top competition since the 2013–14 campaign, can earn a spot if Villarreal loses all three of their remaining games or if they collect two more points.

Almeria loses and drops four points, putting them in 15th place, provisionally.

With a 1-1 draw at home against Girona, 14th-place Celta Vigo is five points above the drop zone.
