Simone Inzaghi, manager of Inter Milan, declared after his team's resounding 3-0 aggregate victory over rival AC Milan on Tuesday that he never had any doubts about his squad's ability to advance to the UEFA Champions League final.

After a string of disappointing results, Inzaghi was criticized and put under pressure a month ago. However, his team has since turned things around, and their 1-0 semifinal second-leg victory over Milan was their eighth straight victory across all competitions.
"At first, it seemed like a dream, but we never lost hope. We went on an incredible run, and it is incredibly satisfying to win the semi-final in a derby in this manner. The boys deserve nothing but praise,'' Inzaghi told Sport Mediaset.

Inter, which is currently third in Serie A, will take on Fiorentina on May 24 in the Coppa Italia final.

Their recent winning streak and six clean sheets, with only three goals allowed, are the foundation of their return to form.

I had promised a long time ago that we would work extremely hard without considering any competitions other than our own, he said.

Inzaghi basked in the glory of his team's triumph over Milan, their fourth straight victory over their neighborhood adversaries.

Since the 1973–74 season, Milan had not lost four games to Inter in a single season.

They were fantastic, he said, displaying "strength, determination, aggression, and concentration." "Since January, we've played four derbies and won all four. We know Milan is the Italian Champions and has tremendous talent, but the players were outstanding and deserve to enjoy this evening."

Inter defeated Milan 3-0 to win the Italian Supercup in January and picked up a 1-0 victory in Serie A the following month before their two semi-final victories.

Inzaghi was keeping his options open when asked if he would prefer to play Real Madrid or Manchester City in the championship match. Both teams will play their second legs of their last-four match on Wednesday.

"It's common to start as the underdog when playing City or Real, but football is always competitive: last year, we faced Real Madrid and lost both games despite playing well. Manchester City doesn't need an introduction; we'll watch and wait for whoever shows up.

Inzaghi stated that his team's attention is now primarily on Serie A as they prepare to take on the recently crowned champions Napoli on Sunday.

We haven't had a day off since April 1st, so I gave the players tomorrow off. We'll get together again starting on Thursday because we have to get ready for a league game in Naples, but it was well-deserved.

On June 10 in Istanbul, the Ataturk Olympic Stadium will host the Champions League final.
