"Maa," starring Pori Moni, has been delayed in its release.

At first, the Pori Moni featurette "Maa" was scheduled to open in theaters on May 19.

Aranyo Anawer is the director of the film, which is based on the Liberation War. On May 20, the movie will screen at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. A movie cannot be released before it is screened at the festival, per the rules. The movie's debut has been delayed by a week as a result.

The new release date for "Maa" is May 26. The director is currently in attendance at the Cannes Film Festival.
The Liberation War in 1971 serves as the backdrop for the movie's plot. The movie will show a mother's sense of loss and desperation after learning that her 7-month-old child has passed away.

It's interesting to note that Pori Moni was carrying her son Rajya during the film's production. The actor has also stated in numerous interviews how dear to her heart the project is.

Azad Abul Kalam, Sazu Khadem, Farzana Chobi, and Shahadat Hossain are among the other actors who appear in the movie.
