The Red Carpet at the Cannes Film Festival Serves as Bollywood's Favorite Runway

The Cannes Film Festival is a prestigious event for both cinema and fashion. India has been extremely fortunate to be represented on all fronts on the global stage. The Cannes Film Festival's red carpet has been transformed into their personal runway thanks to our favorite Bollywood beauties. With their eye-catching entries, celebrities such as Aishwarya Rai, Sonam Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone are regulars at the festival. This year's festival will be held in France from May 16th to May 27th, 2023, and will be just as spectacular as previous years. While we wait to see what the fashion moments of the year will be, we look back at our favorite outfits delivered fresh on the red carpet over the years.

Deepika Padukone had several stunning fashion moments during the Cannes Film Festival. Deepika Padukone attended the Cannes Film Festival 2022 with multiple red carpet looks, but it was also her first event as the global brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton. 

Hina Khan looked like an enthralling princess in a lavender gown at the Cannes Film Festival 2022. The ethereal strapless number had a plunging square neckline with very intricate lace embellishments and feather detailing done throughout.

Kangana Ranaut looked stylish and posed in a Zuhair Murad gown at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. The diva looked absolutely stunning in the pastel gown.

Sonam Kapoor's dual-toned Vera Wang gown with a fitted bodice and voluminous tulle skirt, at the Cannes Film Festival 2018. The gown took a new form at the back with floral applique and a bright yellow train flowing till the end.

Aishwarya Rai has been an Indian representative at the festival for over two decades and continues to rule the red carpet. She looked glamorous in a black one-shouldered Dolce & Gabbana gown which featured 3D floral panels in vibrant colours to burst in vibrant colours and style on the red carpet.

Aditi Rao Hydari's Sabyasachi gown at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival featured a hand-dyed and embroidered tulle overlay decorated with floral patterns. She kept it simple and subtle with a dewy makeup glam and accessorised the look with a choker necklace and long chain and the signature Sabyasachi belt added a stylish edge to the ensemble.

Tamannaah Bhatia made her festival debut in a black and white Gauri and Nainika number that exuded grace and charm last year.

Pooja Hegde also made her red carpet debut on the second day at the Cannes Film Festival 2022 in a dreamy, jaw-dropping outfit. The actress has been dropping some beautiful fashion moments from the event but her red carpet attire has our hearts.
