In order to promote digital toll payments for using the Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover in the capital, Nagad, the mobile financial service provider of Bangladesh Post Office, offers a 10% cashback on the recharge of RFID tolling tags using its gateway.

The RFID-based toll collection system, which is made up of overhead-mounted RFID equipment on toll lanes and RFID tags on vehicles, was just recently introduced by the flyover authorities. Customers must first register and open an account in order to use this hassle-free toll payment service.

Then, their tag-affixed vehicles, with the exception of motorcycles and CNG-powered auto rickshaws, would not have to stop at the toll plaza for cash transactions and instead would pass the flyover using the auto-lane after having recharged their tag accounts using Nagad gateway.  According to a press release, the toll will be automatically collected by scanning the RFID tags attached to the registered vehicles crossing the flyover. The digital toll payment option is now being used by many vehicles, which has made what was once a time-consuming task hassle-free and saving time. The eight flyover exits offer the digital toll payment option. The designated "T" lane, where the boom bar will instantly open upon entry, is where the registered vehicles must leave the flyover.  Vehicles won't need to wait on the toll plaza any longer for cash transactions.

In order to relieve traffic congestion at the toll plaza of the nation's longest flyover, Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover, Orion Infrastructure Limited and Nagad signed a contract last year to digitalize toll collection. Customers must open an account on the flyover's website (https://mmhf.com.bd/) in order to use the RFID-based toll payment service.

When vehicles with RFID tags are recharged through Nagad, they will receive an immediate 10% cashback. The cashback will only be up to Taka 100. The May 5 campaign will continue until the end of this month. Nagad's chief commercial officer, Md. Shihab Uddin Chowdhury, commented on this new service for customers by saying, "We're taking various initiatives to encourage people to choose more digital transactions in their daily lives. As part of these efforts, Nagad is involved with the digital toll payment system. "Vehicles can use this cashless service to pay tolls without hassle and drive directly across the flyover. Customers will also benefit from the time savings, and the economy will benefit overall, he added.

Vice-President of Orion Group Wing Commander (Ret.) Md. Erfanul Azim stated, "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has declared that it is time to move from "Digital Bangladesh" to "Smart Bangladesh." In keeping with this announcement, we've launched a digital toll collection system that will reduce traffic jams at toll booths and give both drivers and passengers more time.

He added, "I believe Nagad's 10% cashback will persuade more people to use the RFID-based toll payment system.  Customers must first visit the flyover's website and complete the initial registration in order to use the digital toll payment service. They will then procure RFID tags from Sayedabad's Central Plaza and attach them to their vehicles. Customers must choose "Pay with Nagad" from the "Add Trip Option" menu on the flyover's website in order to pay the toll. Once the trip number, Nagad account number, verification code, and PIN have been entered, paying the toll can be done quickly and easily.
