Fire breaks out at jute warehouse in Gazipur

A fire broke out at a jute warehouse at Pubail area in Gazipur this morning (July 13, 2022).

The fire broke out around 5am, confirmed Abdul Hamid, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service, reports our local correspondent.

Five firefighting units are working to douse the blaze, he said.

"The locals initially worked to put out the fire. After some time, the fire started to spread to other warehouses, and the locals called the fire service," he said.

"Five units are trying to douse the blaze, including three from Tongi, one from Dhaka's Uttara, and one from Gazipur Sadar. But no casualties have been reported so far," he added.
