Tigers hope to wrap up T20 series today against Ireland

Hoping to wrap up the series one match to spare Tigers will take on Ireland in the second match off three-match T20 series today at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.  

The match is scheduled to start at 02:00pm (BST) and will be telecast live on T Sports and GTV.

It is be the game teams will play with different target when the host Bangladesh are looking forward to confirm the series today and the visitors Ireland’s only intend at least to level the series and to bring contest of winning the series to last match.    

The Tigers are currently leading the series by a 1-0 margin after they registered a 22-run in the D/L method during the series opener at the same venue on Monday. 

Bangladesh, who are psychologically and decently on a high aptitude after knocking off world champions England 3-0 in the T20 series, carrying that confidence to the ODIs against Ireland as they swept the series by 2-0. In conditions that they posted a five-wicket win in the first T20 to lead the series.      

Meanwhile, ahead to begin the T20 series against Ireland, when Hathurusingha talking to the media also said that psychological safety also brought out the best of the players to make them hungry for success. 

“One word I can sum up is psychological safety. It’s a big word. There’s a lot of things in behind that like if you can create the environment that the players can do their best without worry about outcomes, without worry about repercussion,” Hathurusingha clarified.  

However, apart from the ODI hiccup against England when they bowled first, they bowled Ireland out for 155 and 101 in the first and third ODI with the fast bowlers taking all ten wickets and when they batted first posted 338 for 8 and 349 for 6 in the first and second ODI respectively and more importantly in every game, they rewrote records.

In the rain interrupted first T20 match Bangladesh after batting first scored a huge 207 runs and restricted for 81 runs on their way to chasing the revised total 104 from eight overs.

Considering the brilliant performance of the Tigers in the both bowling and batting in the previous matches distinctively they can look forward to win the match to ensure the series one match left to play.  

The way they have been playing in the last few matches, in both ODI and T20s, looked the players hungrier for success and that is something instrumental in team's solid performances.  

Bangladesh also made their intention clear that they would continue their game with the aggressive brand of cricket, notched up a record 81 runs in the first power-play.

Shakib Al Hasan, captain of the Bangladesh T20 format when he was talking to the media at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Tuesday revealed that it was exactly that they want to play.    

“This is the way what we want. It is difficult for one or two guys to always contribute, want this kind of all-round performance, we were not sure how the wicket will play, but we always want to be positive from the start," Shakib said.
