Ramadan market monitoring by DNCC will be strictly: Mayor Atiqul Islam

In order to maintain reasonable prices for necessities and a sufficient supply of goods, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) will closely monitor markets.

Atiqul Islam, mayor of the DNCC, made this observation on Wednesday at a view-exchange meeting on a number of topics, including market price control of commodities, maintaining a regular supply of necessities, and market monitoring.

The DNCC mayor said, "Prices of essentials decrease during the religious festivities in all countries. But the reverse scenario prevails in our country. Tough measures will be taken if prices of commodities are hiked in this Ramadan unnecessarily.”
