Train hits Passenger bus at Malibagh rail crossing

In the Malibagh level crossing area of Dhaka, a Drutajan Express traveling in the direction of Panchagarh collided with a Sohag Paribahan passenger bus.

This incident took place at 9:10pm on Wednesday, Shahjahanpur police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Amit Hasan Mahmood confirmed.

The rail connection between Dhaka and other districts has been suspended, according to Kamalapur Railway Station Master Anwar Hossain, following the collision between the train and the bus at the Malibagh railway gate at night.

Station Master also said that “Our team is working there. Train connectivity will be normal after the bus is removed from the train line,”. 

Two units of the fire service reached the spot after receiving information about the accident.

They are working to remove the bus, Fire Service media officer Anwar Hossain Dolan confirmed the matter.

He said that a bus of Sohag Paribahan was returning to Dhaka from Benapole in Jessore. The bus was empty as it dropped off the passengers in Malibagh and Mouchak areas. 

“As a result, no casualty was reported in the incident,” he said.
