Following Sunday's 2-1 comeback victory over Real Madrid, Franck Kessie, a substitute, gave LaLiga leaders Barcelona momentum in their quest for a 27th Spanish championship.

By defeating the league champions three times in a row, Barca significantly increased their chances of winning their first league title in four years. Real, who was in second place after the outcome, fell 12 points behind the leaders.

Barca was the superior team and defeated a Real Madrid team that at times appeared resigned to their fate, roared by almost 100,000 supporters in a sold-out Camp Nou.

"We must be sincere. We never gave up, but we've fallen behind them by four games. Although nothing is impossible, winning the title is actually very difficult "Thibaut Courtois, a real goalkeeper, told Movistar Plus.

Barcelona pressed hard right from the start, and in the sixth minute Raphinha nearly gave them the lead with a point-blank header that Courtois brilliantly saved with his right fist.
Sergi Roberto blasted a powerful shot just inches over the crossbar after it rebounded.

Four minutes later, however, Real took the lead after a cross from Vinicius Jr. deflected off Ronald Araujo and went into his own net.

However, Barcelona quickly recovered and seized the initiative.

Raphinha, who was arguably Barcelona's most dangerous player, attempted an angled shot from the edge of the area that Courtois denied with another outstanding save. Andreas Christiansen had two corner opportunities that could have resulted in two goals.

Real appeared happy to maintain their lead, but their plan backfired. When their defense failed to clear the ball from the penalty area just before halftime, Sergi Roberto pounced and unleashed an unstoppable strike to the left of the goalkeeper.

After the break, Barcelona kept up the pressure and created several chances, but it was Real's substitute Marco Asensio who scored in the 81st minute, altering the course of the game.

However, his close-range effort was ruled out by the VAR after the replay showed he was fractionally offside.

Barca kept pushing for the winner and finally got it in added time when Alejandro Balde raced down the left channel and crossed to Kessie who was left unmarked in the far post. He unleashed an unstoppable first touch strike to give Barca the win of the season.
