In celebration of International Women's Day, Facebook parent company Meta and BRAC recently held an event titled "Empowering Women and Youth in Digital Spaces" to share the outcomes of their collaboration on a digital awareness program that was launched the previous year.

Meta, a Facebook-parent company, has been collaborating with organizations in Bangladesh to support initiatives that give women more economic and technological awareness.

To date, more than 500,000 BRAC program participants—roughly 75% of whom are women—have learned about online safety, privacy tools, and how to combat misinformation.

A social media campaign also introduced about 10 million young people and women to the responsible and productive use of social media.

According to the impact measurement, 98% of participants—up from 62% before the training program—say they now know how to keep a positive digital footprint.
