Cargo trawler capsizes after passenger launch collided with it in Munshiganj

A cargo trawler capsized after a passenger launch collided with it in Munshiganj’s Dhaleshwari River.

The incident took place at around 6:45am near Kathpotti Launch Ghat area of Mirkadim municipality in Munshiganj Sadar upazila, said Lutfar Rahman, in-charge of Muktarpur Naval police outpost

“MV Jamal-9 from Barisal collided with the cargo vessel, resulting in the capsize.

However, the launch could not be traced after the incident,” he added.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Locals and naval police rescued six people in the trawler safely.
