A sedition complaint was filed against Nurul Haque Nur, former Ducsu VP and leader of Bangladesh Gono Odhikar Parishad, at a police station in Sylhet.
Emon Ahmed, secretary of the district unit of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Mancha, lodged the complaint with Kotwali Police on Sunday afternoon.
The complaint said Nur held a secret meeting with an individual named Mendi N. Safadi, apparently an agent of Israel's intelligence agency Mossad according to the complaint, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). "It seems that Nur has been involved in a conspiracy to unseat the elected government in Bangladesh," it added.
It also said he is actually conspiring to create division among Bangladesh, its government and the holy religion Islam by handshake with the Mossad agent going abroad in the name of holy Kaaba Sharif Tawaf.
Md Abul Kaher, inspector (Investigation) of Kotwali police station, however, said this type of case cannot be filed by an individual without the permission of the state.
