Sextuplets die two hours after birth in Ctg

A 29-year-old woman in the district gave birth to sextuplets on Tuesday, but unfortunately the six babies died two hours after their births.
The woman, Taslima Begum, wife of a Dubai expatriate and also resident of Fakitchhari upazila, gave the birth in a span of two hours through normal delivery at a private clinic in the upazila on Tuesday evening.
Of the newborn children, there were four baby boys and two girls.
Dr Umme Fatema Tuz Zahura, a physician of the clinic, said they guessed earlier that the mother would have given birth to one more baby observing her belly as she was their regular patient.
The average weight of the babies was 350 to 650 grams.
She said they tried desperately to save the lives of the newborn babies but failed. Taslima is now safe.
