The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will meet with Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun to discuss the difficulties that have arisen with regard to the location of the party's rally scheduled for December 10.

Sayrul Kabir Khan, the leader of the BNP's media wing, told the media on Wednesday night that the meeting will take place at 1:00 pm on Thursday at the police headquarters.

Sayrul Kabir Khan stated, "BNP leaders would discuss the location of the party's Dhaka divisional gathering with the police chief on December 10th. The BNP officials would also discuss making up charges against the party's leaders and activists and assaulting and harassing them while posing as nighttime home searches.

According to a party source, the BNP would be represented at the conference by vice chairman Barkat Ullah, joint general secretary Moazzem Hossain, publicity secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury, and law affairs secretary Kaiser Kamal.

In order to hold its divisional rally in front of the party's headquarters at Naya Paltan in the capital, BNP requested permission from the police. However, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police approved the rally's location at Suhrawardy Udyan subject to 26 requirements. Additionally, the DMP requested that the party obtain approval for the gathering from the public works ministry.

BNP officials insisted that they would organize the gathering Naya Paltan despite the police's orders because it was their party's choice to do so.
