BUET student Fardin's father files a murder case, and friend Bushra is taken into custody

Fardin Nur Parash, a student at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), was killed, and a lawsuit has been filed.

Early on Thursday morning, Kazi Nur Uddin Rana, the victim's father, filed a complaint with Rampura Police Station against Fardin's friend Amat Ullah Bushra and a few other unidentified individuals.

Toufika Yasmin, sub-inspector of the police station, confirmed the news.

Meanwhile, police arrested Bushra from her residence in Rampura of the capital on Thursday morning.

On Monday afternoon, the body of Fardin was recovered from the Sitalakkhya River behind Laxmi Narayn Cotton Mills in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj after he went missing from the capital on November 4.

After conducting an autopsy on his body, Narayanganj General Hospital’s doctor Sheikh Farhad said that Fardin, 24, was murdered as his body bore several injury marks.

Several units of law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies are working to trace the killers.

A number of people have already been interrogated by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the Detective Branch (DB).

Other people are suspected of being detained and questioned, according to police sources.

RAB-11 brought Saiful Islam Babu, cousin of Fardin, to its custody on Tuesday and interrogated him, said sources.

After the recovery of the body, DB Motijheel Division brought Amat Ullah Bushra, the girlfriend of the victim, and Shirza Sangshaptaq, a friend of the deceased, to their custody and interrogated them.

Fardin hailing from Nayamati at Kutubpur in Deulpara of Narayanganj city lived in Konapara in Shantibagh of Demra.  He was a third-year student of Civil Engineering Department at Buet.

He had an appointment to join a debating competition in Madrid in Spain next month.
