The 130-km India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline (IBFPL) project is "progressing well" and is expected to be completed by the end of this year, Chairman of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) R Rath has said.

The NRL head said this at the 29th Annual General Meeting of the Assam-based company yesterday (September 19, 2022).

The project aims to export oil products from the Siliguri Marketing Terminal in West Bengal state to Bangladesh.

He said NRL has targeted to commission IBFPL by October this year and the overall physical progress till June 30 this year is 92.7 percent, reports our New Delhi correspondent.

Rath said NRL was "determined in its pursuit of executing the major ongoing projects in hand including India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline (IBFPL).

The IBFPL is one of the five projects which will enable long-term business growth of NRL both in terms of revenue and profit. "Hence, completing this and four other projects without any time and cost overrun remains the core focus area of the company," he added.
