Ex-DMP commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia arrested

Former commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Asaduzzaman Mia was arrested in the capital on Wednesday night.

A team of the Rapid Action Battalion-3 apprehended him in the Mohakhali area, confirmed Lt Col Munim Ferdous, legal and media wing director of the battalion.

The former DMP chief has been arrested in connection with a murder in 2015, he said, adding that a case over the murder was filed with Khilgaon police station on 3 September.

On 7 January 2015, Asaduzzaman Mia joined as the DMP commissioner and served the post till 13 September 2019.
