Roads in many areas of the capital went under water due to the rain that started early Tuesday, causing significant hardship for those heading to works and schools.
Many streets are submerged in knee-deep water, with some areas experiencing water up to the waist.
Residents and commuters faced severe challenges as the city struggled to cope with the downpour.
Office-goers, students, and others on their way to daily activities have been left stranded, waiting for hours as traffic comes to a standstill.
A resident of the Mirpur-10 area said that he attempted to go to office in Karwan Bazar by rickshaw around 7:00am. However, the entire route from Mirpur-10 to Shewrapara was flooded. At one point, the rickshaw seat was submerged, forcing him to abandon the trip and return home.
The situation has caused massive traffic jams across the city, with various vehicles stuck in waterlogged streets. CNG-run auto-rickshaws were particularly affected, with many failing to start due to water entering their engines.
