Dhaka to get metro rail back from August 17

The Dhaka metro rail will start operating again from August 17, bypassing two damaged stations in Mirpur 10 and Kazipara, almost exactly a month after closing.

The advisory council of the interim government took the decision on Sunday.

Trains will not stop at the two damaged stations till repair is done.

The two stations in Mirpur 10 intersection and Kazipara were vandalized during the recent student movement that toppled Sheikh Hasina’s regime.

The services were suspended on July 18 amid demonstrations by students demanding quota reform in public service.
