Police HQ orders forming citizen security committees at all stations

Instructions have been given from the police headquarters to form citizen security committees in every police station area to restore the activities of the police stations and maintain law and order. 

Instructions were given to all district superintendents of police and officer-in-charge (OC) of the police stations. 

The police headquarters said in a press release on Saturday. 

The main goal of the committee will be to increase public involvement in restoring law and order. 

To achieve this, the committees will develop an action plan and conduct monitoring and evaluation activities. 

Measures will be implemented to prevent violence, theft, robbery, and hijacking through joint patrols involving law enforcement agencies and committee members.
