New RAB, DMP chiefs appointed

AKM Shahidur Rahman has been appointed the new director general of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).

At the same time, Md Mainul Hasan has been appointed as the new commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification regarding their appointments Wednesday morning.

Besides, Barrister Harun-Ar-Rashid, the director general (DG) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), and Habibur Rahman, police commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), have been attached to the police headquarters as additional IGPs.

Earlier, the government appointed the commandant (traffic and driving school) Md Mainul Islam as the new Inspector General of Police.

A gazette notification, signed by Md Mahbubur Rahman Sheikh, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Home, said this on Tuesday night.
