2,000 litres of TCB soybean oil from warehouse of grocery shop in Ctg

A mobile court recovered 2,000 litres of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh’s (TCB) soybean oil from a warehouse of a grocery shop in Joramtol Bazar area under Sonaichhari union of Chittagong’s Sitakunda.

The mobile court was led by Sitakunda Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Md Shahadat Hossain. 

Deputy Inspector (SI) of Sitakunda police station Khurshid Alam assisted him.

The soybean oil was recovered in the second round of raids on Sunday around 9pm.

Earlier, 1,000 litres of soybean oil were recovered from the same shop during a raid from 5pm to 6:30pm.

The mobile court sentenced the owner of Masud Store – Mohammad Masud – to one-month imprisonment and fined him Tk20,000 for illegally selling TCB’s soybean oil in the open market.Executive Magistrate Shahadat Hossain said that 1,000 bottles of soybean oil weighing 2kg were recovered during the operation after receiving information about the illegal storage and sale of TCB oil in a grocery store.

“Those involved have been fined and sentenced,” he added.
