Banks to remain open on Friday, Saturday ahead of Eid

Bangladesh Bank has instructed the scheduled bank branches in the specified areas to remain open for three consecutive days from Friday to Sunday (5, 6 and 7 April), aimed at facilitating different financial transactions for the country's garments industry and its workforce ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

A circular issued by the Department of Offsite Supervision (DOS) of Bangladesh Bank confirmed the matter on Sunday.

According to the circular, the designated bank branches in industrial areas of Dhaka, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj, and Chattogram will remain open on 5, 6, and 7 April in order to ensure timely payments of salaries, bonuses and allowances to workers, employees, and officials, and processing of export bills.
