Heartbreaking story of ‘Meghna Konnya’ to be released in theatres during Eid

This year’s Eid film releases are completely packed with films with rather intriguing plots. “Mehgna Konnya” directed by Fuad Chowdhury is said to be released in theatres during the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The movie follows the story of young woman named Progga. She had come to the small village of Ulania on the bank of River Megha. Quickly she begins to feel uneasy and want to return to Dhaka and practice for her Dance performance. But she ends up begin misguided by a couple who are involved with trafficking women.

“ ‘Meghna Konnya’ is a film that has been a labor of love and passion for me, a journey that brought together themes of resilience, human connection, and the transformative power of art. In directing this film, my aim was to shine a spotlight on the often-hidden stories of individuals facing immense adversity, and to illustrate how the human spirit can triumph even in the darkest of circumstances.” said director Fuad Chowdhury.

The movie stars Actors Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shatabdi Wadud, Quazi Nawshaba Ahmed, Shemonti Das Shumi, Sajjad Hossain. The script has be written by Fahmidur Rahman and Ahmed Khan Hirok. It is produced by Anwar Azad Films and SJ Motion Pictures and co-produced by Switzerland. Deepto TV is the television partner.

On October 15 last year, the movie was premiered at the twelfth international Film Festival of South Asia ( IFFSA) in Toronto, Canada.
