Al Jazeera report: Facebook agrees to remove

Facebook authorities have agreed to remove the documentary of the Al Jazeera channel on Bangladesh from their platform.

Facebook informed its decision to the government, said Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar on Saturday evening.

He said they had talks with the Facebook authorities several times. “The social media platform officially informed us that they’ll remove the Al Jazeera report soon.”

Earlier, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) sent a letter to YouTube and Facebook authorities to remove the documentary of the Al Jazeera channel on Bangladesh from their platforms.

It took the step following a High Court order on Wednesday.
