Bangladesh U-19s to tour Sri Lanka in October

Bangladesh U-19s will tour Sri Lanka in October for a five-match one-day series, the SLC confirmed in a media release today.

The U-19s returned to action after a long time following the storm of coronavirus pandemic with the ongoing series against visiting Afghanistan U-19s. The Sri Lanka tour will be the new look Bangladesh U-19s' second assignment since Akbar Ali led the young Tigers to the U-19 World Cup title in 2020.

Bangladesh will reach Sri Lanka on October 7. The first one-dayer is slated to be played on October 15 and the series will end with the fifth and final one-dayer on October 25.

"The upcoming series will give the U19 team an opportunity to play international cricket after a while, and help us to work on finding the right combination to play in the U19 World Cup in 2022,'' Avishka Gunawardene, the newly appointed U19 Coach of Sri Lanka was quoted as saying by SLC media release.
