Bangladesh ended the FIFA International Football Series in a goalless draw. The hosts did not score a goal against Nepal at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday. Last Friday, Bangladesh lost the South Asian opponent by 2-0 goals.
In the first 45 minutes of the match, neither team saw the net. In the 23rd minute, Sumon Raza's excellent shot from outside the box did not hit the target for a short while. The ball goes off the field a few inches above the crossbar.
The hosts created a second chance to cross the half-hour mark. In the 31st minute, Nepal's goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong easily blocked Sumon's weak volley with a cross extended from the right side of Nabib Newaz Jibon. Three minutes before the break, Rahmat Miah blocked a long-range right-footed shot from outside the box by the guest goalkeeper.
Neither team was able to create that opportunity in the second half; could not create any kind of danger in front of the goal. However, in the end, the hosts survived when the Nepali player hit a head post and returned. After that, no team could create any more opportunities.
Bangladesh won the series 1-0 through this goalless draw. Bangladesh will face Qatar on November 24.
