Fakhrul blames ruling party for ‘countrywide disorder,’ terrorist activities

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that illegal terrorist activities are taking place across the country with the help of those in power.

Mirza Fakhrul made the remarks in a statement sent to the media on Wednesday.

The BNP secretary-general said the attack of Awami terrorists in the election campaign of Sheaf of Paddy candidate in the run-up to the by-election of Dhaka-5 parliamentary constituency is undoubtedly well-planned and the blueprint is to intimidate the people by creating terror and disrupting fair elections. This attack is a naked manifestation of the spread of government domination. The current illegitimate government is carrying out such attacks with party terrorists as part of establishing control over everything including elections, administration, law and court.

He said the present government has pushed the people to the margins by ignoring the basic rights of the people. With the help of those in power, illegal terrorists are dominating all over the society. The government wants to rule the people with tears in its eyes. Democracy, suffrage and justice have been sent into exile, and that is why the terrorists of the ruling party are shedding blood by attacking the leaders and activists of the opposition in any peaceful program. The present government does not want to hold fair elections in the country as it wants to rule the country without fear by drowning the people of the country in fear and apprehension.

Mirza Fakhrul said, but no dictator in human society has ever been able to sustain his illegitimate rule. With the rise of democratic power, dictatorships have fallen in different countries. The fall of the dictatorial ruler is imminent in Bangladesh too.

He further said, "I strongly condemn and protest against the heinous incident of attacking and injuring leaders and activists at a peaceful street rally in Jatrabari as part of the election campaign for the candidate of Sheaf of Paddy on the occasion of Dhaka-5 Jatiya Sangsad vacant seat." I strongly demand exemplary punishment for those involved in the attack. I wish the injured leaders and workers a speedy recovery.
