Police arrest suspected Rohingya drug peddler fled from Ctg court

Police today arrested a Rohingya youth who fled from police custody at Chattogram Court Building yesterday.
The arrestee is Abul Kalam (25). He was arrested from Teknaf's Leda camp early today, reports our staff correspondent quoting Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station, Nezam Uddin.
Sub-inspector (SI) Tipu Sultan, Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) arrested alleged Rohingya drug peddler Abul Kalam yesterday, along with 1,050 yaba pills, while conducting a drive at Station Road area.
Later he was handed over to Kotwali Police Station while the SI filed a case with the police station.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) (Prosecution) Kamrul Hasan of CMP told , "Two constables escorted seven accused at the court building. The accused were first taken to GRO section of Kotwali. After entry in the register book, they were going to court prison on the ground floor of the court building."
"The Rohingya man managed to flee on the way to court jail after dodging the policemen," said the ADC.The Daily Star
