Accident leaves three children dead & eight injured in Sunamgonj

Three children have died and eight other people were injured after a microbus collided with a truck in  Sunamganj's Shantiganj upazila.

The incident happened at Dabor point on Sunamganj-Sylhet road of the upazila around 8:30pm on Sunday.

The deceased are Khokon Das, 2, Niloy Das, 9, Pranab Chandra, 8, all hailing from Kalkalia union of the district's Jagannathpur upazila.

Confirming the matter, Shantiganj police station Officer-in-Charge Kazi Muktadir Hossain said the microbus, returning from a wedding, hit a standby truck, injuring all the 11 passengers inside.

The children were rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared them dead, he added.Dhaka tribune
