24 more deaths and 1,696 news cases have been recorded in the country taking the total deaths to 5,747 and while the number of infections stood at 394,827in the country.

This information was given in the press release of the Department of Health regarding the country’s coronavirus situation on Thursday.

According to the Department of Health, 1,687 more patients have been cured in the last one day at home and hospital. The total number of recovered patients has increased to 310,532people.

The first case of coronavirus was detected in Bangladesh on March 8 last, and it crossed 0.35 million on September 21. Meanwhile, 4,019 COVID-19 patients were identified in the country on July 2, which is the highest record in a single day.

On March 18, 10 days after the first patient was identified, the Department of Health confirmed the first coronavirus death reported in the country. On October 10, it stood at five and a half thousand. Meanwhile, 64 deaths were reported as the highest in a single day on June 30 in the country.

Bangladesh ranks 17th in the world. According to the Johns Hopkins University's list, and 30th in terms of death toll.
