Indicating to extend the ongoing closure in the country’s educational institutions due to the ongoing coronavirus situation, the Minister of Education Dr. Dipu Moni said, "When we think that our students-teachers-parents have no health risk or very little, we can open up (educational institutions) in such a situation."

The education minister made the remarks at a virtual press conference on Wednesday (October 21st) at noon. Today's press conference was organized to inform how the sixth, seventh and ninth class students will be assessed at the secondary level. Deputy Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury was also present at that time.

Asked by reporters whether the educational institution could be opened in November, the education minister said, "What do you think?" In the situation that is still there, the educational institution .... Most of the places where it opened are in the closing stage. So we are in this moment .... And since there is a concern about winter everywhere, experts say. That is why we will discuss with the National Advisory Committee on COVID.

'When we think that our students-teachers-parents do not have health risks or very little maybe or that risk is possible to cover, we can open (educational institutions) if it goes into such a situation.
