DSA case against cartoonist Kishore: HC grants bail

The High Court has granted six months of anticipatory bail to cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore in a case filed under the Digital Security Act for posting anti-government posts on social media Facebook.
The High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman accepted his bail plea on Wednesday.
Earlier on Monday (Mar 1), the hearing on his bail application ended and the court set a date today for an order in this regard.
Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua took part in the hearing for the petition, while Deputy Attorney General Sarwar Hossain Bappi stood for the state.
A total of 11 people, including Kishore, Mushtaq, and Rashtrochinta activist Didarul Islam Bhuiyan, were prosecuted under the DSA by Rab-3's Assistant Director Abu Bakar Siddique on May 6 last year.
Didarul and Mihaj were granted bail in September last year, Mushtaq died in custody last Thursday and Kishore has been behind bars for nine months.
